This project, comprised of 6 individual exercises, was completed to gain experience and knowledge in designing products to be manufactured in a specific way, creating an understanding of the relationship between manufacturing and the designed form.

The designed object is an IPad/Tablet stand, selected because of its simplicity, functionality and variety in design choices. During this project, each IPad stand were to be made from one part (where applicable) and only feature one manufacturing technique per design (even if multiple parts were created they must be made by the same manufacturing technique).

In total 6 designs were created, using the manufacturing types, Sheet Forming, Injection Moulding, Hollow Forming, Assemblies and Miscellaneous (CNC Machining). For each design, a list of basic design features were created, as well as specific references to design guides found online for each manufacturing technique, as well as a 3D render, and technical drawings of each design.
